Q: Is it expensive to maintain a synthetic ice rink?

A: No, that’s the beauty of the product. After the original investment your annual maintenance cost are near zero. You have no refrigeration, no zamboni and very little maintenance.

Q: How do you maintain?

A: Clean with water and apply the “Slide Solution” as needed, it’s that easy.

Q: Do I need special skates?

A: No, You do not need special skates. You just wear your hockey or figure skates.

Q: Will my blades get damaged?

A: No, The ice will not damage your blades. The ice does have more friction and results in more frequent skate blade sharpening.

Q: How much space do I need for a rink?

A: Rinks can be custom designed and built to fit any size area.

Q: Where can I install a rink?

A: On any flat, hard surface in your basement, garage or in the backyard. We can design and build a deck surface to accommodate any size backyard rink.

Q: Can I feel the seams when skating?

A: No, If installed on a hard flat surface as directed you can not feel the seams.

Q: Will the shavings go air-borne?

A: No, unlike other products the shavings will not get into the air. The shavings will roll up on your skate blade, you simply wipe it off with a towel.

Q: Can it stay outside all year? Do you have to cover it when not in use?

A: The product can stay out side all year and we do recommend that it be covered when not in use.

Q: Is the product glued down?

A: No, This is a floating floor system. Install it on a hard flat surface and your ready to go.

Q: Are there any fillers in your product?

A: No, our product is 100% skatable all the way through. It is also reversible which makes it easy to relocate a panel if needed.

Q: What is the thickness?

A: Our products range in thickness depending on the application. We carry 3/8”, ½”, 5/8”, ¾” and 1” (1” is Special Order).

Q: How do the panels connect?

A: There are two types of connection. We have a spline connection and a dove tail connection. Depending on your application we will recommend a connection method to you.
